Miscellaneous parts for sale.
- We now have some of our plastic parts and backpack accessories for sale. We also have the orange whistle buckle that is part of our sternum strap for individual sale with it's female counterpart buckle, as well as the clamcleat line tensioner that was on the 2008 The One tent. McNett® Sil Fix™ Sil-Nylon Repair Kit now for sale.
- Gossamer Gear® is now carrying the McNett® Sil Fix™ Sil-Nylon Repair Kit. This handy little repair kit can be used to patch any silicone treated material including Gossamer Gear® spinnaker fabric products. Sil Fix™ repairs holes and tears on all silnylon tents, tarps, backpacks and outerwear. It also reinforces high wear areas. Sil Fix™ is a much stronger repair adhesive than SilNet™. Sil Fix™ is the best product to use for repairing tears, holes and damaged seams in silnylon fabrics. Sil Fix™ won’t self level however, so it is not intended for seam sealing and Sil Fix™ won’t bond properly to non-siliconized fabrics. Find it here. [03/28/09]
Gossamer Gear® to sell Therm-A-Rest® NeoAir™ Mattress
- Coming up in April, Gossamer Gear® will be selling the new Therm-A-Rest® NeoAir™ air mattress. The NeoAir™ is a new air mattress that has a patent-pending Triangular Core Matrix technology that creates an internal truss system which creates incredible stability and a patent-pending reflective barrier making it three times warmer than any other uninsulated air mattress available. Cascade Designs® has been working on this for a LONG time and we've seen a sample and have talked with folks in the know and are really impressed. Since this is an air only mattress, we highly recommend pairing it with either a 1/8" or 1/4" ThinLight™ pad for colder weather and we will be offering a special price on a NeoAir™/ThinLight™ combo very soon. We will begin taking pre-orders once we're more certain of a ship date. Email us at: info@GossamerGear.com if you want to receive a notification for the pre-order phase. [03/24/09]

Pair them with a bag of tuna or some almond butter or just much on them by themselves and it's home run derby time. [03/23/09]

The SilTwinn™, a silnylon version of the SpinnTwinn™, introduced.
- During these budget-conscious times, we here at Gossamer Gear® are trying to do all we can in order to make our gear more affordable. In keeping with that, we have just introduced a silnylon version of the popular SpinnTwinn™ tarp, aptly named the SilTwinn™. Matching the SpinnTwinn™ in all specifications except fabric and weight, the SilTwinn™ provides maximum coverage for two people for very few ounces. See the new addition to our tent line here. [02/18/09]
Gossamer Gear® introduces a Full Length sleeping pad.
- Another new addition to the Gossamer family of products for 2009 is a Full Length sleeping pad. The NightLight™ Full Length pad is 76" long and 19" wide. It weighs approximately 12 ounches and rolls up to a diameter of 8 inches. For those of you who are taller than 6'4", you can use your pack under your feet and/or clothing for your pillow under your head and still have a full length pad for the rest of your body. We're also introducing a new type of foam for this pad and our other two convoluted (the egg crate design) pads, the NightLight™ Torso pad and the SitLight™ pad, due to our supplier not being able to obtain the previous Evazote® foam. The ThinLight™ pads will remain in the Evazote™ foam as they are sourced from a different supplier and don't need the convolution process. Find the new full length NightLight™ here. [02/18/09]
Gossamer Gear® introduces a curved stay.
- The 2009 Gossamer Gear® Mariposa™ Plus and new Gorilla™ backpacks have a new look. You might not notice the difference by just looking at the packs, however, but you'll definitely notice when you wear one. That's because for the first time ever, we've introduced a curved stay for these two packs. Made from aluminum rod and weighing just 3.4 oz., this single piece curved stay comes pre-bent with a universal S-curve that should fit most everyone's back. Slight adjustments can be made to these stays if needed. This stay will ship installed in the 2009 Mariposa™ Plus and the Gorilla™ backpacks. We will no longer be shipping the carbon fiber straight stays. We will also be shipping the remainder of the 2008 Small and Medium Mariposa™ Plus backpacks with the new curved stay. We can retrofit your Mariposa™-series pack, including previous models of the Plus, the Mariposa™ Standard and Miniposa™ packs, with the new curved stay if you send it to us along with a check or money order for $25 to pay material, shipping and sewing costs. See the new stay here. [02/06/09]
Gossamer Gear® goes social.

2009 Gorilla™ available for order.
- The new addition to the Gossamer Gear® ultralight backpack line for 2009 is now available for pre-order. The Gorilla™ Ultralight Backpack, a bullet-proof version of the recently redesigned Miniposa™, is the perfect pack for those "transitional" ultralight backpackers. It's also a good choice for those folks who don't want to have to stay on the trail or take extra care of their gear. Heading out for a day on the crags? This little baby won't even blink at being tossed around on granite and will hold your ropes and racks with no problem at all. This little jewel might be going in the opposite direction of "lighter weight" gear, but at only one ounce heavier than the Mariposa™ Plus, you won't even notice it. [02/04/09]
Pack and Accessory volumes updated.
- The crack team of capacity scientists at Gossamer Gear® have been busy calculating the precise volume of all of our backpacks, hip belt pockets, shoulder strap pockets and stow sacks. We now have more accurate volume measurements for the capacity on our gear. Most packs dropped in capacity as to what was previously listed so please check the product pages for more information. [01/20/09]
2009 Miniposa™ now in stock.
- The all new 2009 Miniposa™ Ultralight Backpack is back in stock just in time for the new year. We've redesigned this pack to make it lighter and simpler. The stay channels have been removed, heavy webbing straps have been replaced by grosgrain ribbon and we're using a lighter elastic and pocket mesh on the outer pockets. [12/31/08]

We plan to begin production on tarps sometime in the next month and then begin producing The One™ and Squall Classic™ soon after. We hope to have the SpinnTwinn™, SpinnShelter™ and The One™ in stock this year with the Squall Classic soon to follow early next year, if not late this year. Free Shoulder Strap Pocket modification offer.
- It has come to our attention that the velcro attachments on the elastic loops of the Shoulder Strap Pockets are not sufficient to hold the pockets in place for some people. We are offering to modify the Shoulder Strap Pockets for those people who have already purchased them at no charge. You must pay the shipping charges to return them to us but we will pay to return them to you. If the pockets work fine for you the way they are, no modification is necessary. We are modifying all of the ones we have in stock and they will be for sale again soon. The modification involves removing the velcro attachments and sewing the elastic loops to the side of the pocket. [7/14/08]

Spinnaker shortage affects tarp and Squall Classic availability.
- A recent error in the production of our Spinnaker fabric has led to delays in acquisition. This in turn has lead to delays in production of the SpinnShelter™, SpinnTwinn™ and Squall Classic™ for 2008 and we are experiencing some gaps in the availability of these products. We hope to have more tarps and Squall Classics™ in stock in the Fall. Please check the respective product pages for more updates and thank you for your patience. [3/3/08]
