For its size and weight, the quality is awesome. I used the trowel in the High Sierras this summer on an 11 day trip. I used it to scrape, pound, and shovel, and it still looks new. Why can't UL cookware perform like this?

Highly recommended. (Posted on 11/8/15)

I'm super happy with this trowel. It's absurdly lightweight and comes in fun, happy colors. It works far better than my old plastic trowel at it's main job - hacking through a dense network of roots.

As a heads up, it is thin metal and digs into your hand when digging through difficult ground. I haven't tried a glove or rope wrap or other protective options but I probably will if it gets annoying enough.

I highly recommend this as a lightweight, well made tool that needs to be carried on every trip! (Posted on 11/5/15)

I thought $20 was a lot of money for a trowel, but this has quickly become one of my favorite pieces of gear. Super light and extremely efficient. The cheapest gear is not always the best choice!! Those plastic trowels are useless, and this trowel cuts through packed soil better than any other trowel or snow stake I've ever used. (Posted on 9/23/15)

Very handy... have always either dug with a stick or a huge heavy gardening trowel. This thing is great! Kinda pricey is my only complaint. (Posted on 8/20/15)

I have tried all kinds of trowels to try to get my load lighter but the Deuce took it to a new level. Super light and super sturdy. It digs a great cat hole and fits great in my mesh pouch on my Gorilla and my Mariposa. (Posted on 7/26/15)

I have been a LNT master since 1997 and have carried everything form a U-dig it to a plastic trowel and beyond to dig the perfect cat hole. The Deuce of Spades not only makes digging a cat hole a breeze it also doubles as a tent stake at night. The lightweight, compact size and reinforced designs makes this trowel effective even in the rockiest of soils. I can not recommend using one of these enough when on trail. As the folks who make them say, let's leave all rocks unturned. (Posted on 7/23/15)

Great product! Ridiculously light weight, but very strong. Looking forward to putting it to the true test on the CDT on April 20th! I have no doubt it will preform as well as it did on my test run.. And shipping was super fast. (Posted on 4/3/15)

I was lucky enough to get to try this last summer on my CDT hike and this little bugger held up to a lot of digging. It works great, just takes a minute to learn how to dig holes with finesse and not brute force. (Posted on 3/23/15)
