| Description | The Gossamer Gear Kumo™ Superlight backpack is a tough, smaller volume pack that is loaded with new fabrics and features. Built on the Murmur platform but contructed largely of our custom 140 denier Dyneema GGridstop™ nylon the Kumo is tougher and has more features than its lighter parent. The Kumo™ was named in honor of our great friends and customers in Japan as well as to describe the pack itself. Kumo™ is Japanese for "Cloud", and can also mean "Spider". The Kumo™ continues the use of our new OTT™ (Over-the-Top™) closure system with an added zippered pocket there for quick access to vital goods. Both side pockets are constructed of our Dyneema GGridstop™ to minimize snagging and increase durability. The big back pocket in made from our power mesh with a new angled top to allow easy access. We have opted for a 1.5" seatbelt webbing for the removable hipbelt for solid weight transfer and load control. The Kumo™ also features our new more ergonomic shoulder strap harness and a groovy new EZClip™ sternum strap and accessory mounting system. The Gossamer Gear Kumo™ also sports a lashing system for squeezing and hanging your gear with. As always there is a pad holder pocket on the front that will accept the included Sitlight as well as many other pads. The Kumo™ ships with a SitLight™ pad and has an integrated but removable cord compression/lashing system. We recommend the Kumo™ SuperLight backpack for total weights below 25lbs. Recommended uses are backpacking, dayhiking, travel (can be used as a carry-on bag), mountaineering and any other appropriate adventure. |
