I owned a Mariposa Plus for many years and really loved it. Then the new 2012 Mariposa came out with some really desirable new features, especially the top zip pocket and the belt with integral zip compartments. In practice, I keep my total pack weight between 20 and 25 lbs and the extra volume of this pack is not to bring more - just be able to stow it more comfortably without resorting to a lot of stuff bags and there added weight! I stash my Neoair sleeping pad in the pad holder - makes for a very comfy and plush ride. Thank you Gossamer Gear for your continued innovations and value. Lightweight backpacking is letting me enjoy the hobby in my late 50s - and soon the 60s! (Posted on 4/19/13)

This pack has ample room, weighs next to nothing, and provides fantastic support! It has plenty of accessible pockets and straps for holding, handing and fastening all sorts of things (I hang my solar kit from little tabs on the top/side)

I have only one qualm, and that is that the backpad (which doubles as a sit pad) is prone to accumulating sweat, given that its made of foam. I would love a breatheable alternative!
Thankfully, this is easily removable and replaceable, so i'm going to throw something together myself. (Posted on 4/4/13)
