Best Hiking Poles I've UsedReview by Casey Fiedler

Bought these several years ago and have been using them on the trail since. They're lighter than anything I've seen, used, or heard of in the hiking pole world and they hold up great. I've had no problems at all with durability or quality and I expect they'll continue working for years to come. Of course carbon fiber has its drawbacks in pure durability versus a more robust metal pole - but I'm always looking for lighter and not necessarily stronger.

If you want an awesome lightweight pole that will kill it on the trail, this is the one. I use it for setting up tarps and flys regularly. The only drawback with a fixed length pole is trying to get it on buses or airplanes for travel to and from trails. If that's a priority, try the LT4 collapsible pole.

These poles have a dual shaped handle which effectively allows two hiking "lengths" for adjusting up hill and down hill - I feel no need for an adjustable pole at all so long as the pole is sized correctly for your needed length to begin with. Can't say enough good things about the company and this pole. (Posted on 12/16/16)

I've been considering these poles for years, but was reluctant to try them because I am very hard on my poles, and I take solo 100-milers in the backcountry (where a broken pole would be quite a problem for me.) But these poles are really strong and stiff. The handles are really well-designed, comfortable, and accommodate large, gloved hands. Ascending with these is fantastic after 15 years with 20 oz. Lekis. And no straps or moving parts to fail or fuss with on cold mornings. I wish I would have gotten these years ago, and plan on hiking with nothing other than LT3s or LT4s (when travelling) from now on. I could not be happier about them. (Posted on 3/15/16)

I LOVE my LT3 poles. They're so light they almost float. I've had them for years with zero trouble. I'd like em even more with straps, but still highly recommend them! (Posted on 10/9/15)

I thought I would miss not having straps but these are so light that I do not. Very sturdy and well made. I also love to hand these to people just to see their expression when they feel how light they are. (Posted on 7/4/14)

I have used these poles for years and have no complaints. It is hard to understand why people carry around the more common heavy poles when such a superior product is available. (Posted on 5/15/14)

I couldn't tell you how many other hikers minds I've blown by asking them to hold ONE of their poles in one hand, then give them TWO of my LT3 poles to hold in the other hand. Realizing BOTH of mine weigh a lot less than one of theirs. The expression on their face is priceless! A favorite piece of gear of mine! (Posted on 2/21/14)
