Dumped out my bag, stove, and pad down low and used the Gorilla as a daypack to get up high in the Southern Sierra. Still lighter than my partner’s detachable pack top/fanny pack!

Yeah! This is typical of our trips into the High Peaks of New York. I use my Murmur as a day pack. Bear ball, stove, etc stays at the camp. My partner takes his fanny pack. His fanny pack weighs way more than the Murmur about 12oz vs 8oz.
I day hike with a Gorilla too. It’s so I can carry my snowshoes and heavy camera with ease. But even with my three pound snow shoes and 3 pound camera my load is 10.2 pounds, that includes the weight of the pack. I like hot tea on my hikes so my 8 ounce cookset is in that too.
