This loop offers access to the dramatic landscape of the spectacular Santa Catalina Front Range, famous for its deep canyons and soaring ridges. Expect memorable views and access to Sonoran riparian environments. This is close to Tucson and is a very popular trail, so we won’t be alone!

On Saturday morning, we start on the Bear Canyon trail which crosses a stream several times in its first two miles as it meanders through the famous Seven Falls area. There will be spectacular views of both Sabino and Bear canyons as it climbs up 1,000′ to Bear Saddle and the junction with the Arizona Trail. We’ll head west on the West Fork/Arizona Trail and camp near Hutch’s Pool (reliable water) for the evening.
On Sunday, we’ll return on the West Fork Trail and head down beautiful Sabino Canyon. We’ll take the Phone Line Trail #27 back to our vehicles. We’ll grab some excellent lunch in Tucson before heading home!
