Join Trail Ambassador Julie LePage for a section hike on the Cohos Trail; a relatively new, 162 mile hiking trail that runs from Bartlett, NH to the Canadian border. We’ll be hiking each of the nine sections over a series of weekends, traveling from the southern end to the northern terminus – a passport is not needed, just your sense of adventure. Join us for the whole series, or for a single section… and be one of the first to hike this rugged trail system.
For this 5th section of the Cohos Trail, we’ll be car camping Friday night and Saturday night at a local campground near the Nash Stream State Forest. Saturday’s hike will include Bald Mountain, the Victor Head Cliffs, South Percy Peak and North Percy Peak. On Sunday, we’ll pick up where we left off and climb Mt. Sugarloaf (this is on the NHHH for those interested, and yes, there is more than one Sugarloaf in NH), and hike by the Devil’s Jacuzzi, and Nash Bog. Wondrous sights will be seen. Each day is about 11.3 miles and 3000 feet EG. Due to the rough terrain, rock scrambling, and exposed ledges, this hike is not suitable for beginners.
