Trail Ambassador Heather Anderson, known as “Anish,” will be giving a talk at this year’s summit titled Following Your Dreams: Setting a Speed Record on the Pacific Crest Trail, about how an overweight teenage girl transforms to set the self-supported speed record on the Pacific Crest Trail during the summer of 2013. Anish completed the Triple Crown of Backpacking in 2006, at the age of 25. She completed the Appalachian Trail in 2003, Pacific Crest Trail in 2005, and the Continental Divide Trail in 2006. She has since taken up ultramarathon running, completing six 100-mile races since August 2011 as well as dozens of 50k and 50-mile events. She is well known for setting the overall self-supported speed record on the Pacific Crest Trail in 2013 (60 days, 17 hours, 12 min), breaking the previous record by four days. Her writing has appeared in Ultrarunning Magazine, and she speaks all over the country about her record setting hike. She is an ambassador for Gossamer Gear, Altra shoes and a member of Team Seven Hills.
