Start the winter hiking season off right foot with a 1-night backpack trip to the Bonds (West Bond, Mount Bond, and Bondcliff) in the heart of the Pemigewasset Wilderness. This hike will start on Saturday December 21 (after the winter solstice), so these peaks will count for the winter NH4K list. We’ll camp out on the Twinway before we reach Mt Guyot. After an early morning start, we’ll bag the Bonds and hike out via Lincoln Woods. This is an Appalachian MountainClub trip.
Day 1: 9.2 miles, approx. 2300 ft elevation gain
Day 2: 13.9 miles, approx. 610 ft elevation gain
Previous winter backpacking experience is required and participants should be in shape to hike with winter loads.
