Brian “Sunburn” Green
Brian is an avid lightweight backpacker and author of the popular Brian’s Backpacking Blog. Originally from Southampton, England, Brian has lived in the US for over 15 years and is now proud to be a US citizen.
He lives in North Carolina with his wife, two wonderful children, and his chocolate lab. His love of the outdoors started at a very early age, almost as far back as he can remember. Now he spends as much time backpacking as his busy work schedule and family life will allow.
He is equally happy on a multi-night backpacking trip with friends, as he is camping with his kids who have inherited his love of and respect for the great outdoors.
Be sure to check out his backpacking blog for great backpacking tips & tricks and gear reviews.

Favorite Training Grounds: Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Pisgah National Forest, Uwharrie National Forest, and of course the AT. I’m extremely fortunate that I’m just a few hours away from several great national forests, numerous trails, and beautiful mountains. There’s something to do or somewhere to go all year round in this area, so I try to get out to sharpen my skills and practice with my gear as often as my schedule allows.
Current Plans: Due to a severe lower back injury early on in the year, 2013 has been a bit of a bust for me. I have a sub-5lbs trip planned with Glen Van Peski in the Sierras later in the year, but nothing else substantial.
