Cody is the Director of Outdoor Adventure Programs at Baylor University in Waco TX. The program has many facets including a Rock Climbing Gym, Marina Boating Facility, and a Ropes Course. Baylor offers trips and clinics for University Students in Waco and across the country. Cody enjoys them all from backpacking, to mountain biking, to whitewater kayaking and beyond. When Cody first arrived at Baylor the backpacking trip participants were averaging 50 – 60lbs. per person for a 4 day trip. Yikes! Over the past couple of years, with a new backpacking philosophy some new equipment, including a fleet of Mariposa Ultralight Backpack, students are hovering around 30lbs for a 5 day trip. They really don’t know how it used to be with 50lb. packs, but we all know that everyone is happier with a lighter load.
